Ham Skewers with Orange Ginger Glaze



Quantity Ingredient
800 g Piller's Black Forest Ham, 3 cm (1”) cubes
1 red bell pepper, 3 cm (1”) cubes
1 green bell pepper, 3 cm (1”) cubes
1 red onion, 3 cm (1”) cubes
250 ml (1 cup) fresh pineapple, cubed
1 limes, cut into 6 wedges
Olive oil
Balsamic vinegar
Salt and pepper
6 wooden skewers, 15 cm (6”)
Orange Ginger Glaze:
125 ml (½ cup) orange marmalade
30 ml (2 Tbs.) lime juice (1 lime)
5 ml (1 tsp.) fresh ginger, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
250 ml (1 cup) water



Soak wooden skewers in water for 20 minutes. On each skewer, assemble ham, peppers, onions and pineapple, alternating ingredients and finishing with a lime wedge on the end. Drizzle with some olive oil and balsamic vinegar; season with salt and pepper. Marinate for 30 minutes. Place on preheated grill on medium high heat; grill for 5 - 10 minutes, turning occasionally, until vegetables become tender. Brush with glaze and grill for 1 - 2 more minutes. Serve immediately.

Glaze: In a small pot combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil on stovetop and cook at high heat for about 5 minutes until mixture reduces to a thick glaze.
