Corn Biscuits with Black Forest Ham
INGREDIENTS
| 1/2 cup | Butter | 125ml |
| 2/3 cup | Brown Sugar | 160ml |
| 1/4 cup | Maple Syrup | 60ml |
| 2 | Eggs | 2 |
| 1/2 tsp. | Salt | 3ml |
| 1 1/2 cups | All purpose flour | 375ml |
| 3/4 cup | Yellow cornmeal | 180ml |
| 1/2 tsp. | Baking powder | 3ml |
| 1/2 cup | Milk | 125ml |
| 3/4 cup | Frozen corn | 180ml |
| 2 cups | Diced Piller's Black Forest Ham | 500ml |
| 1/4 cup | Chopped Jalapenos | 60ml |
METHOD
- Cream together butter, brown sugar, maple syrup eggs and salt.
- Add flour, cornmeal and baking powder and blend thoroughly.
- Add milk while mixing.
- Stir in corn, ham and jalapenos by hand until worked in.
- Spoon into a greased and floured 9X9 pan and bake in a pre-heated 375ºF oven
- for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown and an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
THESE BISCUITS GO GREAT WITH SCRAMBLED EGGS FOR BREAKFAST
