The use of the term “natural” for food ingredients is defined by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). Natural food products are those containing no artificial flavouring agents or additives, with no significant processing of ingredients.

Huber Brothers - Edward, Wilhelm and Heinrich
In 1957, Wilhelm Huber opened a small butcher shop in Waterloo, Ontario using family recipes and traditional European meat processing methods to provide his customers with authentic, great-tasting European deli meats. Two years later, his brothers Edward and Heinrich joined the company which became Piller’s Sausages and Delicatessens Limited.
From those humble beginnings, Piller’s has become one of North America’s largest producers of European sausages and deli meats, famous for award-winning products such as Black Forest ham and air-dried salamis. To this day, after five generations of sausage makers, Piller’s still uses the same natural aging, curing, and smoking process that had customers lining up outside Wilhelm Huber’s butcher shop over 50 years ago.
The company was acquired by Premium Brands Holdings Corporation in 2011 and is now known as Piller’s Fine Foods.
Using distinctive family recipes and traditional European meat processing methods, we offer more than 400 pork, beef, and poultry products to retail and foodservice customers all across North America. Not only that, we introduce more than 20 new products every year that keep pace with changing consumer tastes.
Over the years, our commitment to producing high quality delicatessen meats has earned us 44 international awards for product quality and superior taste.
In Canada, Piller's products were voted Winner of BrandSpark Best New Product Awards for Ready to Eat Packaged Meat by consumers in both 2014 and 2015.
In each of our three production facilities in Ontario, we utilize state-of-the-art meat processing equipment, the most up-to-date smokehouses, and the highest quality slicing and packaging production machinery.
All of our facilities are fully networked with the most advanced high-tech computer systems. As a result, we have the capability to manufacture all our products at any one of our facilities, so we can meet the demands of any customer, any request, any time of the year.
At our warehouse, order picking uses bar code scanning technology in the racking system to find customer orders and send them to the conveyors for delivery to our shipping area for the most efficient delivery system in the industry.
Although we’re proud of where we came from, we keep our eye on where we’re going. We focus on new product development and product improvement to satisfy our consumers’ preferences for great tasting, wholesome deli meats.
Our research and development team continues to create innovative products that meet the needs of our consumers. From our customer base in Canada, we continue to expand into other markets in North America.
